Baron Baptiste: Master Teacher
The son of yoga pioneers Magana and Walt Baptiste, who opened San Francisco’s Yoga Philosophic Health Center in 1955, Baron Baptiste began studying yoga at twelve. With a foundation like that, it’s not surprising that Baron and his father would create their own style of yoga, Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. The physical aspects of the Baptiste Yoga™ style are inspired by the Hatha Yoga teachings of Krishnamacharya and his students Iyengar and Desikachar, whom Baron Baptiste studied with personally from a young age.
Baron has been a dynamic and influential teacher, and trainer in the arena of spiritual, physical, and life transformation. His work translates Eastern wisdom for those in the west who are searching for spirituality. Often referred to as a “rock star of yoga,” Baron revolutionized the training methods of NFL players while working on the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff as a peak-performance specialist. His influence didn’t end with sports, though, and like his father before him, Baron has taught a who’s who of Hollywood celebrities. He has appeared on thousands of radio and television programs, including the PBS special Transform Your Life with Baron Baptiste. He is also a bestselling author, whose books include Journey Into Power, 40 Days to Personal Revolution, and the bestselling My Daddy Is a Pretzel: Yoga for Parents and Kids. His latest book is Perfectly Imperfect.
Baron divides his time between his yoga studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Sundance, Utah.
